Most independent appraisers have experience valuing vehicles. Few have spent more than 26 years inside the insurance claims industry reviewing, approving, negotiating, and resolving total loss valuations.

Cardwell Claim Authority was built on that experience.

I began my career as a staff auto damage appraiser, where I spent six years performing hands-on vehicle inspections, writing repair estimates, and determining total losses. I spent those years researching comparable vehicles to establish accurate market values. This field experience provided a strong technical foundation in vehicle condition analysis, option identification, damage assessment, and fair market value determination. Following my time as a field appraiser, I moved into claims management, where I spent the majority of my career specializing in total loss claim settlements and valuation disputes.

My management responsibilities were heavily focused on reviewing and approving total loss valuations, resolving settlement disagreements, and negotiating claim outcomes with policyholders and their representatives. In these roles, I've reviewed tens of thousands of total loss files, carefully analyzing valuation reports, verifying comparable vehicles, and ensuring that settlement values accurately reflected real market conditions. I worked closely with appraisers to confirm the accuracy of vehicle options, condition adjustments, mileage considerations, and comparable market data. A significant part of my role involved negotiating total loss settlements and resolving valuation disputes, requiring a detailed understanding of both insurance policy language and accepted appraisal practices.

Over the course of my career, I have developed extensive expertise in:

- Total loss vehicle valuation methodologies

- Vehicle Customization evaluation

- Insurance policy language and appraisal clause disputes

- Comparable vehicle verification and market analysis

- Vehicle option identification and valuation adjustments

- Condition assessment and valuation accuracy

- Fair market value determination based on real market data

- Total loss settlement negotiation and dispute resolution

- Diminished Value Claims

- Partial Loss Appraisal Clause

- Impartial Appraisal Umpire Services

WHY EXPERIENCE MATTERS

Anyone can generate a number. The real question is whether that number can be supported.

A credible valuation requires more than software, formulas, or assumptions. It requires careful analysis of the vehicle, the market, the available data, and the unique factors that influence value. Every conclusion should be supported by evidence and capable of being explained, defended, and verified.

That philosophy guides every appraisal, valuation review, and dispute resolution service we provide. Facts matter. Market data matters. Methodology matters.

We don't create value. We determine value based on evidence, market data, and professional appraisal methodology.
